Volunteer
Heart and Hands Thrift Shop would not be open without our dedicated volunteers. The shop is entirely volunteer run, with the exception of one employee, our Volunteer/Shop Coordinator, who manages the volunteer schedule and oversees the daily operations. Volunteers donate their time by either sorting items that come in, putting items out for display on the floor, or working the register. Volunteers sign up for shifts ahead of time and typically work either a morning shift from 9:45 am - 12:30 pm, or an afternoon shift from 12:15 pm - 3:00 pm. We currently have 40+ volunteers who work, and have fun together towards our mission.

- "I enjoy volunteering at heart and hands because of the fast paced work. The shop is always changing to make space for donations. The flow of donations coming in and going out is incredible. I love the diverse customers from young mothers with their children to 90 year old folks. My favorite is definitely working with all the other volunteers and board members. It’s a positive atmosphere. We have a great time together. I really like the fact that we give back to our community"

"I believe that reusing and passing on what we are done with and enjoying new "treasures" that others have donated, is the definition of "Americana." The proceeds of Heart & Hands help enrich the lives of others, here and abroad. I look forward to my days of volunteering because of all the super volunteers I've come to know and all the customers I get to meet"
